Position overview

As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and execution of industrial and building electrical projects.

You will prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment, write tender documents, perform design calculations and one-line diagrams, and carry out power system studies.

You will also prepare cost estimates, develop cable and equipment lists, provide technical support during construction, and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure service quality and compliance with established standards and specifications.

Your responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design of plans and specifications, primarily for industrial environments, and sign and seal drawings as required.
  • Prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment.
  • Perform design calculations and select appropriate protection devices.
  • Design low-voltage electrical distribution systems for industrial buildings, including lighting and service installations for rooms and offices, industrial heating and lighting units, and prepare single-line and control diagrams.
  • Conduct electrical power system studies such as short-circuit analysis, protection device coordination, and arc flash studies.
  • Prepare cost estimates and preliminary engineering reports.
  • Develop cable and equipment lists.
  • Perform field surveys in industrial settings and provide technical assistance during construction.
  • Carry out any tasks necessary to ensure project success and deliverable quality.
  • Coordinate electrical work with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with contractors, manufacturers, and clients.
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), authorized to sign and seal plans and specifications.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of one or more power system modelling software such as EasyPower, ETAP, or SKM.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code C22.10-18.
  • Resourceful, autonomous, and adaptable.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
Assets:
  • Experience in consulting engineering.
  • Proficiency with EasyPower software.
  • Valid ASP Construction Health & Safety certification.

Location:

    Work from one of our offices in Montréal, Brossard, Québec City, Trois-Rivières, or Saguenay. You may be affiliated with the office of your choice and work in hybrid mode (a mix of remote and in-office work each week).
